Don’t get commenting on how Multi-Level Marketing is a bunch of pyramid schemes. First off, tell me which established business doean’t have a person at the top, deriving their income from layers, upon layers of staff and employees who actually are generating the revenue? Yep…looks like a pyramid to me. What about you?
Substantive discussion: I’ve been involved in three MLMs over the years. Two of them are still around and thriving and serving their customers and affiliates well with good products and services. I’ve worked with clients who have been successful in their work in MLMs as well.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
As they grow their organization, they have affiliates/downlines that are not local to them
Affiliates/downlines, when they begin working need lots of consulting time to get onboard with the products/services
Affiliates/downlines being new opportunities/clients to the table, yet aren’t fully prepared to make the presentations to those new people right away, so the upline is the one who presents.
Affiliates/downlines usually begin part time involvement and have a day job to attend to. Limiting their hours to be accessible for help or training.
In each of those listed cases, live streaming can produce great results! Here are some ways how you, the upline/team leader/vice president/etc can employ live streaming to address these issues:
With live streaming, the people involved don’t have to be in the same room. When team members are out of town, for vacation, work, or just because they live elsewhere, a live streamed team meeting suits the bill to communicate. Coupled with the right tools for interaction, it can be a full featured meeting, allowing remote viewers to enter into the discussions.
When a new person joins the team, and it’s necessary to have their supervising team lead/member make the presentation to the new prospects, using a live stream to get to the meeting is easily facilitated. More importantly, several people in the organization can get involved. Actually, this can be accomplished with Skype easily for small meetings. This eliminated the physical distance and travel constraints that often leave a new affiliate trying to go it alone.
Even if essential information can’t be viewed live by those who are involved part time and unable to listen and interact online, when properly planned, every meeting can be ready for them on demand, which is a win-win. The presenter doesn’t have to try to replicate the experience, and the viewer can fit it in where their time line allows without needing additional time.
Take away: Live streaming bridges time and space gaps and improves your team’s performance!
