Because the time has arrived is my response. A follow on response is: Your competition is going to be soon, so why not get there first?
In January 1928, the first TV station began broadcasting in the US. I'm not sure of the cost of that first live TV station, but if I calculated the cost, adjusting foor inflation, I'm sure it's lots more than what you can do it for these days.
While the capability of today mimics that entire process of delivering a live (or taped) presentation to viewers merely shifts the delivery pipe from the the original radio frequency media, to the cable (cooper and fiber optics) and is working it's way t the Internet, the engineering of creating the environment remains a detailed technical process. The complexity of the process, as assisted by the plethora of modern technology components such as webcams and smartphone/tablet based video cameras, varies with the degree of professionalism you require for the target audience.
Honestly, in some cases, a slide show with a disembodied, prerecorded voice, is suited to capture the market and create a revenue flow. The next step up from that is a live presentation of the disembodied voice, with a chat window t the side. If the audience enjoys that format, then it's not that difficult. On the high end, a real time, professional broadcast quality presentation, using a range of multi-media to augment and communicate the message, and one that is complimented with something conventional TV/Cable does not deliver, live interaction with an audience is now achieveable at a substantially lower cost, with the added benefit of not being contained by the reach of the broadcasting studio.
Would a live streamed presentation increase your business opportunity by providing a message in the most accepted format for consumer consumption? Yes, it would and it provides many additional time and cost saving benefits as well.
It's time to shut down "Big TV." The Internet allows each of us to now step onto a global stage and reach people we otherwise would never have come in contact with, much less had the opportunity to do business with.
It's time to get on board with your own live streamed shows, before your competition does!
